Resposta rápida

Instagram crops screenshots that do not match its ratios. Put the screenshot on a 1080x1350 (4:5) canvas for feed posts, 1080x1080 for square posts, or 1080x1920 (9:16) for Stories and Reels. Screenshot Studio has these as presets, adds a background around the screenshot so nothing is cut off, and exports with no watermark.

Passo a passo

  1. 1

Open the editor and add your screenshot

Go to screenshot-studio.com/editor and paste with Cmd+V (Ctrl+V on Windows), drag the file onto the page, or click to browse. PNG, JPG, and WebP files up to 100MB work, and there is no account to create.

  2. 2

    Pick an Instagram size

Open the size picker in the top bar and choose Instagram Portrait (1080x1350), Square (1080x1080), Landscape (1080x566), Story, or Reel (both 1080x1920).

  3. 3

    Fit the screenshot with padding

Add padding in the Style section so the whole screenshot sits inside the canvas with background showing around it. Nothing gets cropped.

  4. 4

Add a background and a caption

Pick a gradient in the BG tab and add a short headline with Add Text. Keep text away from the top and bottom of Story canvases, where Instagram shows its own buttons.

  5. 5

    Export or copy the result

Open Save in the top bar, pick PNG, JPEG, or WebP, choose 1x, 2x, or 3x resolution, and download. Copy puts a 2x PNG on your clipboard so you can paste it straight into Slack, Docs, or an email.

Instagram sizes at a glance

These are the canvas presets built into Screenshot Studio. Export at 1x for the exact pixel size, or 2x for extra sharpness that Instagram will scale down.

  • Feed portrait: 1080x1350 (4:5). Takes up the most room in the feed, so it is usually the best choice.
  • Feed square: 1080x1080 (1:1).
  • Feed landscape: 1080x566 (1.91:1).
  • Stories and Reels: 1080x1920 (9:16).

Making phone screenshots work in the feed

A phone screenshot is much taller than a 4:5 post, so Instagram either crops it or shrinks it. Placing it on a 1080x1350 canvas with a background keeps it whole, and the background gives you space for a headline. For carousels, use Add Slide to design several images in one project and Export All to download them together.
